I am fully qualified to instruct or examine clients for both the PPL(H) and the CPL(H) . All instruction follows the syllabus laid down by the CAA.
Specialist courses
I can provide instruction in Spraying on all types of terrain, Underlung Load and Defensive Flyiing in mountain and upland areas. The spraying training has proved popular with a lot of my PPL students. They don’t expect to be doing any actual crop spraying but it is a very useful way of honing their low-level skills and also involves flying (low) in some really beautiful terrain in the Peak District.
Licence Proficiency Checks
I can perform annual LPCs required by the CAA for retention of your PPL(H).
Additional Ratings
Once you have your Licence, you are rated to fly the specfic make and type of helicopter on which you trained. My clients usually train on the R22. If you need more speed, comfort or more than one passenger you will need to obtain a type rating for another aircraft. This will involve at least 5 hours of training and a flight test in the new aircraft. I am a CAA-approved Type Rating Examiner. The most common aircraft people move on to is the R44, which is currently the best-selling 4 place helicopter.
Self-Fly Hire
My R22 is available for self-fly hire. Please see the Rate Sheet.
